Michigan Athletic Trainers Society (MATS) is a professional association representing over 800+ athletic trainers across the state. We are proud to be a resource to the membership of MIAAA. With over 400 athletic trainers that can be found working in the 750 MHSAA member schools, there are several upcoming events and resources we wanted to share with you at this time.
Athletic trainer contact information - Please take a minute and add the contact information of your licensed athletic trainer (if you have one) to your school's MHSAA landing page. This is a great help resource for all athletic trainers to help with planning and communication needs.
Members of our Secondary School Committee will be present at the upcoming MIAAA Mid-Winter Conference in Traverse City. Please stop by the MATS booth across from the registration area.
March is National Athletic Training Month - The slogan this year is "ATs Impact Health Care Through Action". Please stop by the MATS booth when in TC for some great ways to recognize the work your AT does at your school. Or check out the following link for some other ideas you might be interested in using.
MATS is seeking nominations for our annual honors and awards - Applications are due March 31 and will be awarded in June! Please check out the link for further information and application process. Secondary School AT of the Year, Distinguished AT, and other categories are a few to consider.
Looking to hire an athletic trainer to cover an event you are hosting? Please check out this listing service available from Go4Ellis:
NATA ATLAS Survey - Please forward the following link to your athletic trainer to have them complete. It takes a few minutes to complete, if they haven't done so already this school year.
Athletic Trainers are licensed allied healthcare providers, working in collaboration with/under the direction of licensed physicians. We can be found working in a variety of settings; secondary schools, college/university, professional sports, outpatient clinics, industrial, military, and others.
